Basketball Game Highlights Education Through Sports

Students from Penn-Trafford School District recently took a field trip to PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh for an afternoon of college basketball as part of a regional educational event.

Fifth-grade students from Harrison Park and Sunrise Elementary Schools participated in the trip, organized by the Atlantic 10 Conference as part of its “Youth Education through Sports” day.

During the event, students watched an Atlantic 10 men’s basketball game featuring the St. Bonaventure Bonnies and the La Salle Explorers, joining other schools from across the region for the educational initiative, which was designed to teach teamwork and perseverance.
