Students in Mrs. Leydig’s third-grade classes at Harrison Park Elementary recently learned about inherited traits in plants.
After studying how traits are passed from parent plants to their offspring, the students participated in an activity that put their knowledge into practice. Each student pulled cards that represented specific traits a new plant could inherit from its “parents.” With these cards as a guide, the students created their very own plants, drawing unique combinations of inherited features.
