Penn-Trafford ‘Kids of Steel’

This spring, students, staff, and parents from Harrison Park, Sunrise, McCullough, and Level Green Elementary Schools took part in the “Kids of Steel” program. Throughout the season, participants learned about proper stretching and running techniques while logging 25 miles during weekly runs. In May, the group traveled to the Kids Pittsburgh Marathon, where they completed their final mile to reach a full 26-mile marathon. The group ran in support of the NFCA.

“It was a great way to get kids excited about running and celebrate how far they have come from the beginning of the year,” commented coach/teacher Miss Tori Simpson.
