During Harrison Park Elementary’s American Spirit Week in February, students had the chance to participate in a special raffle for the Principal for a Day contest. The winners would step into the role of Principal Marasti, gaining firsthand experience of a school leader’s daily responsibilities. Proceeds from the raffle were donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, supporting veterans in need.
The lucky winners were Madelyn Garsteck (Grade 2), Charles Heslop (Grade 3), and Caleb Traill (Grade 5). According to building secretary Mrs. Socrates, the students were amazed by the many responsibilities that come with the role. “They were all awestruck by everything Principal Marasti manages each day,” she said. “But all of them enjoyed their day in charge!”
