Moving Out to Figure It Out

As part of a Girl Scout project for troop 26117, Penn-Trafford High School senior Allison Huffman developed a program called ‘Moving Out to Figure It Out.’ The program teaches kids the importance of staying physically active, understanding the connection between physical and mental health, and learning healthy coping skills.

Allison was awarded the Girl Scout’s GoGold Award last summer after teaching students at a local daycare the curriculum she developed.  In an effort to reach even more youngsters with her important message, she is visiting the fifth-graders of Harrison Park Elementary School - her alma mater - this spring.  She teaches a combination of coping skills and physical activities as tools for a happy and fulfilling life.
