First-Graders Make Shadow Boxes on Groundhog Day

On February 2, Mrs. Buzzard and her first-grade students at Harrison Park Elementary School discussed Groundhog Day and the tradition of observing whether or not ‘Punxsutawney Phil’ casts a shadow.  Then, the class enjoyed creating their own shadows using boxes, construction paper, straws for their objects, and flashlights.
