Harrison Park Holds ‘Domino Effect of Kindness” Event

Harrison Park Elementary School celebrated the May 23rd “1-4-3 Day” by holding a ‘Domino Effect of Kindness’ event.   Students were invited to donate unopened boxes of cereal to be lined up in a domino run through the hallways of the school.  In total, there were 488 boxes snaking through the halls when fourth-grader Fiona Plechy knocked over the first box to create the domino effect.  Fiona earned the honor by being the school’s top Accelerated Reader.  All of the students and staff gathered with glee to watch the boxes fall.

All the cereal was then donated to the Penn-Trafford Backpacks-to-Go program.

May 23rd became known as “1-4-3 Day” in Pennsylvania to remember Latrobe-native Mr. Rogers who used 1-4-3 as a way to say “I love you” because of the number of letters in each word. Mr. Rogers’ legacy of kindness and gratitude are remembered on this day.
