School Counselor


Monday: Harrison Park (on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month I start my day at Sunrise for SMILE meetings and then head to Harrison Park)
Tuesday: Sunrise 
Wednesday: Sunrise
Thursday: Harrison Park
Friday: Floating Day Between Harrison Park and Sunrise (wherever the need)

***Please note that my schedule does vary, depending on needs at the schools, as well as meetings.***

If you need me to speak with me, please call your child's school. If I'm not at your child's school that day, the school will pass a message along to me to contact you. I can also be reached Monday-Friday during school hours at my email, If you email me, please include the name of your child's school.

In addition to being available to meet with your child, talk to you, or link you to other resources and services that may be necessary/available, I have a "counseling library" for hard copies of books and CDs that can be lent out of you.  Please contact me if you are interested in borrowing any of these materials.

COVID-19 Resources for Parents (for you and your children):

*Are you or your child more stressed and worried because of COVID-19? If so, please visit the CDC's website on how to help children cope, as well as, how to help you cope as well:

*Are you, your child(ren), or someone you know experiencing anxiety and/or depression related to COVID19? A new resource hotline is operational to Pennsylvania residents!  All parties are encouraged to reach out and seek support connected to their feelings of isolation and/or anxiety related to the present unknowns. Callers may access support toll-free, 24/7 at 1-855-284-2494. Westmoreland County also has a Crisis Hotline, available 24/7 at 1-800-836-6010. If you are seeking support for your child, please call the hotline with your child, reach out to his or her regular mental health provider, or contact me Monday-Friday starting August 24th via my email - or by calling Harrison Park at 724-744-2161 or Sunrise at 724-864-6700.

*I wanted to share a free parent guide to resilience because especially during times like now we all need to be resilient to cope with the change in our lives. This guide helps you learn about how to use resiliency for yourself and your family:


The S.M.I.L.E. Team (SUNRISE MONITORS INDIVIDUAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES Team) is designed to help students overcome a variety of barriers that may impact their academic, emotional, or social development.  The S.M.I.L.E. team finds school and community resources to help the student at hand.  

Parent involvement strengthens the decision making process about any behavior that is affecting the education, safety, or welfare of their child.  Active parent support in the process promotes student success.  Students are more likely to benefit from S.M.I.L.E. recommendations when parents are informed, involved, and supportive.  

Confidentiality between ALL parties in the S.M.I.L.E. process shall be respected and maintained in the best interest of the student in accordance with all State and Federal Laws protecting the privacy rights of parents and students.  

Students can be referred to S.M.I.L.E. by teachers, parents/family, counselors, administrators, or the school nurse.  

A parent/guardian will be contacted to discuss the concerns related to the child and a permission form will be mailed home since a signature is REQUIRED to either agree or disagree with the process.

What is SAP?

The Harrison Park Student Assistance Program (SAP) services at-risk students in the Penn-Trafford School District. The goal of SAP is to identify students who may be at risk due to academic, social and/or emotional problems.


SAP is an intervention program that collaborates between home, school, and the community in order to address student needs. The SAP team finds school and community resources to help the student at hand.


The SAP Team is a caring group that strives to develop positive self-worth in Penn-Trafford students.

STEP UP Westmoreland - Students, Therapists, Educators, and Parents United in Prevention


The “Backpacks-to-Go” Program is sponsored by funds supplied through Penn-Trafford staff members, community members, businesses, organizations, and churches in the surrounding area. At the elementary schools the program is coordinated by the school counselor and the school nurse, and helped made possible from the help of student volunteers and Life Skills support staff at the high school. We will provide a backpack filled with easy-to-prepare meals and snacks for weekends to our children. This program was developed in response to ongoing student needs with no weekend access to the school breakfast and/or lunch program.
